CBD

What is Cannabidiol (CBD)?

CBD is a naturally occurring compound (or phytocannabinoid) found in the leaves, stalks and resinous flower of the Cannabis plant. It is just one of over a hundred different cannabinoids found in Cannabis. For those that may not know, Hemp and Marijuana are the two main genetics of the Cannabis plant. CBD is present in both genetics however, Cannabolix Hemp products produce greater amounts of CBD while also having less than .03 THC. Making Hemp the go to for recovery benefits of CBD.

Will I get high from CBD?

No, CBD will not create the same effects as Marijuana. CBD is one of many naturally occurring compounds found in the Cannabis plant and will not get you feeling “stoned”. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) on the other hand, is another naturally occurring compound found in the Cannabis plant and is the cannabinoid responsible for the psychoactive “stoned” that Marijuana is known for. Our products contain either 0% or >.3% THC, to comply with the 2018 Farm Bill.

What exactly is a cannabinoid?

Cannabinoids are typically molecular compounds naturally made from hemp plants - or phytocannabinoids - meaning cannabinoids made by a plant. They are also found in other plants and are produced by our bodies commonly known as endocannabinoids - meaning cannabinoids made by our body. Science classifies cannabinoids as fatty compounds that play vital roles within our immune and central nervous system.

How does CBD affect my body?

CBD affects the body by attaching to certain receptors (CB1 and CB2) of the Endocannabinoid System within your nervous system (CB1) and immune system (CB2). Learn about your Endocannabinoid System below!

What is the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) and what does it do?

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a biological system responsible for maintaining balance in the body and regulating processes, including immune response, cellular communication, appetite, metabolism, healthy neurological pathways, and more.  The ECS plays a major role in maintaining homeostasis, by helping to regulate mood, appetite, memory, sleep and pain sensations to keep the body in balance. Despite the dominate role the ECS plays in the human body, it was relatively new discovery (less than 30 yrs ago) and we are still more about how it impacts our daily living.

The endogenous cannabinoid system is perhaps the most important physiologic system involved in maintaining human health. The ECS is composed of endocannabinoids, which are natural cannabinoid that are produced in all of us. CBD has the ability to act as neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors and cannabinoid receptor proteins found throughout the central and peripheral nervous system (brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells). Playing a huge role in how our body operates, our ECS performs different jobs in each system, but the overall goal always is to keep homeostasis.

What questions should I be asking before purchasing my first CBD products?

-We recommend you research:

-Where/How is the Hemp grown?

-What other ingredients are in the product?

-What is the quality of the ingredients (Hemp and other) in the product?

-Is the company ethical, socially conscious and looking for your best interest?

What are some of the pro benefits CBD can deliver?

CBD has been shown to positively affects three main areas: pain relief, inflammation and neuro balance. Neuro balance includes stress and anxiousness. When these three areas are positively affected in the human body, inevitably they are going to experience a deeper sleep. The most profound benefit people notice from CBD is a more restful nights sleep, because if you have less pain, stress, anxiousness and reduced inflammation you’re likely to enter a more parasympathetic (relaxing) state, and less likely to have an uninterrupted sleep pattern. This could also help with recovery for athletes by speeding up the healing process of the muscles.

LEGALITY & TYPES

Is CBD legal?

The 2018 Farm Bill removed Hemp, and cannabinoids like CBD, from the Controlled Substances Act, paving the way for the legalization for cultivation, processing, sale, distribution, and handling of the whole Hemp plant, including flower. The 2018 Farm Bill allows each state to participate in the sale of CBD products from Hemp within its borders as long as the Hemp grown stays under the THC federally legal limit.

What is the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?

Hemp and Marijuana come from the same plant family, Cannabis Sativa. The key difference between these genetics can be found in their level of THC, psychoactive compound. Marijuana contains higher percents of THC and is well-known for delivering a euphoric feeling when consumed, while medicinal Hemp has very minimal THC, producing no psychoactive effects.

Does Hemp Flower have any THC?

Yes, all genetics of Hemp flower are considered a Full Spectrum plant and will contain trace amounts of THC, all under the legal limit of .03%. This is an extremely minimal dosage of THC and will not deliver any psychoactive effects. Unfortunately, even that amount of THC runs the risk of a failed drug test.

What is CBD Board Spectrum?

Board Spectrum CBD oil is the whole Hemp plant without the THC. This means that any Board Spectrum products contain 0% THC but, with all the other cannabinoids to synergistically work together to benefit you. This is the best route for anyone that wants to try CBD but has to worry about the fear of taking a drug test!

What is CBD Full Spectrum?

Full Spectrum CBD oil is the whole Hemp plant but with a minimal amount of THC, under .03%. Full Spectrum products will deliver the so call Entourage Effect which means you have a the full cannabinoid profile of the plant in your product, this is suppose to provide more potent benefits from the CBD. Not a choice for people that need to take any drug tests.

What are Terpenes?

Terpenes are organic compounds in plants which are responsible for the unique smells given off the different strains. Terpenes not only deliver beautiful aromatics, but each different scent has the potential to enhance your overall experience. Essentially, Terpenes are what will distinguish if the strain is more of a Sativa (uplifting effects) or Indica (relaxing effects)

SUGGESTED USE

What's the right dosage for a first time user?

We say to start slow and grow as you go! Some studies suggest that the benefit of CBD increases up to the point of taking 1mg of CBD per lb of body weight, daily. Talk to your doctor or health professional to determine an amount right for you. Here are some helpful tips:

-Effective doses can range from 1mg to 100mg.

-Begin with a small dose of CBD oil drops or try a CBD flower preroll, especially if you have little or no experience with Cannabis, the choice is yours!

-Take small doses over the course of the day instead of one big dose.

-Use consistent doses and ratio for several days, to keep track of effects.

-More is not always better. If necessary, adjust dose slightly.

-Cannabis compounds have biphasic properties, which means dose size can vary effect *Small doses tend to stimulate; large doses sedate.
